Special Education & Needs Law

IMG_0058.jpg

It is my privilege to serve as the attorney for SEN Law. My family resides in Sarasota, FL, and previously lived in Lancaster, PA. My children attended Sarasota County public schools and my wife is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I earned both my Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Master's degree in Reading Education at the University of South Florida. My professional experiences are strongly rooted in more than two decades of public service.  Early in my career, I worked with older adults with developmental disabilities in Florida and Pennsylvania.

In Florida, I have worked for community-based organizations such as The Haven, Jewish Family & Children's Services, and Harvest House. I also have a  decade of experience in public education both as an ESE paraprofessional and as a certified special education teacher in Manatee County. As an educator, I worked with students with physical and cognitive disabilities or impairments. I was proud to be selected by my school's principal to be the special education co-teacher in grades 3-5 for a school-wide inclusion program that was supported by Florida Inclusion Network (FIN).

As a law student, I worked as a law clerk on VA disability claims and appeals. I graduated with honors from Stetson Univ. College of Law where I participated in the Honors Program, Veterans Advocacy Clinic, and as a Research Assistant for Professor Cynthia Hawkins' American Bar Association (ABA) Handbooks for child support and alimony. Since law school, I have volunteered at Legal Aid of Manasota and worked as a part-time staff attorney at Bay Area Legal Services. Today, I am fortunate to be an advocate in my community for persons with disabilities.
